The Servant-Leader Within: A Transformative Path is a re-issuance of Robert K. Greenleaf’s book, Teacher as Servant, with the addition of Greenleaf’s essays, "Servant as Leader" and "Life’s Choices and Markers," in one edition, edited, and with commentaries. The book is co-edited by Hamilton Beazley, Julie Beggs, and Larry Spears and is forthcoming from Paulist Press in 2003.

Teacher as Servant is Greenleaf’s parable about servant-leadership that is really a collection of essays loosely tied together by the storyline of a man who learned about servant-leadership in college and came to practice it in his business life. The book is important because it indicates how Greenleaf believed that servant-leadership could be taught, and because it has served as the guide for creating several servant-leadership houses on American university campuses.
